Working With Children Check (WWCC) – a legal requirement
Club members who are working directly with children under the age of 18 (i.e.Nippers or Cadets) are now required by law to complete their WWCC registration and ensure their number is given to the Club Registrar. This means all Trainers, Assessors, Water Safety, Age Managers and Patrolling Members must hold a valid WWCC.
It is also the Club’s responsibility to verify the WWCC and accept, suspend or reject membership and participation of these people based on the outcome of their WWCC.
You cannot patrol or carry out any of the duties listed above until your WWCC number is logged on Surfguard (via our Club Registrar and your membership will not be ratified until this has been done). Please click the link here: SLSNSW WWCC Fact Sheet for Members.
For instructions on how to apply for your WWCC click here: Working With Children Check – How to Apply Online – Volunteer
If you require any more assistance, please contact the Club Registrar, Wayne Anderson wmtbanderson@gmail.com
Member Protection Declaration
All new members, including General members, need to fill out the Member Protection Declaration, this is particularly relevant for the U18 members who can’t do a WWCC check. Click here to access the Member Protection Form: SLSNSW Member Protection Declaration Form
The completed form should be emailed to the Club Registrar, Wayne Anderson: wmtbanderson@gmail.com.
