Guugi yiigu (Goo-jee ik-koo) – A Worimi Welcome to Birubi Point SLSC

Acknowledgement Of Country

The Birubi Point SLSC acknowledges the Worimi people as the Traditional Owners on whose Country we are situated. We recognise and respect the cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Birubi means Southern Cross or view of the Southern Cross, an important star constellation in the South hemisphere sky.

Surrounded by dunes, sky and sea, Birubi Point SLSC is a special place. We are a young club, incorporated in 1998, but we have a proud history of keeping people safe while they relax and enjoy our spectacular environment. In December 2013 we were blessed to be able to move into a multi-million dollar re-development of our surf club which includes an equipment store, rescue equipment storage, clubroom and a separate cafe.
