Cadets - Surf Life Saving Skills For Teens

cadets

Birubi Point Surf Life Saving Club has been an integral part of our local community for many years, dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of beachgoers. However, our mission extends beyond just saving lives. We strongly believe in empowering young individuals to become active contributors to their community, fostering a sense of responsibility, leadership, and personal growth.

Our cadets program aims to provide a platform for teenagers to develop essential life skills, build self-confidence, and make a positive impact on the lives of others. By joining our club, young participants will have the opportunity to engage in various community service activities, such as educational programs on water safety, first aid and providing essential surf life saving duties.

We are particularly excited to inform you that our youth engagement program closely aligns with the service aspects of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme. As you may already know, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a prestigious program that encourages young people to challenge themselves, develop new skills, and contribute to their community. By participating in our club, students will have the chance to fulfill the service requirements of the award while gaining valuable experiences and making a difference in the lives of others.

We believe that Birubi Point Surf Life Saving Club can provide an enriching and rewarding experience. By actively participating as a cadet, they will not only develop essential life skills but also foster a sense of civic responsibility and community spirit.

Nippers can be the start of a lifelong connection to Birubi Point Surf Life Saving Club, and many continue to be an active member of the surf club once they graduate from the U14’s having obtained their Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC).  However, we actively encourage and welcome those youth aged 13 years and over to become an active member of the club.

As a cadet, there are many opportunities for training and mentorship, where we can personalise your pathway through the club.

If you are interested in joining our club or have any questions, then please reach out to our Youth Coordinator at birubiyouth@gmail.com.
